This library was started by affiliating with the books collection of the first Curriculum Development Center of South Asia located at Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo, Maharagama Teachers College, and the Collection of Books of the Staff Training Centers established at Kaluthara. A library has also been established at the Meepe Management Faculty, now known as the South Asian Teacher Development Center, in connection with the Central Library of the National Institute of Education.
